I founded Pajoe Public Adjusters because I saw a real need for integrity and true advocacy in the industry. After working alongside different public adjusters, I noticed too many put their own interests before the people who hired them. Some refused to take on claims they considered “too small,” while others signed up anyone without properly advising them. My philosophy is different. I believe I have a fiduciary responsibility to put the client’s needs first. That means being honest—even if it means advising a homeowner not to file a claim. For example, if the deductible and the damage amount cancel each other out, it’s often not in the client’s best interest to proceed. In fact, sometimes the best claims are the ones you never file. Education is at the heart of what I do. I take the time to explain what is and isn’t covered, and I also offer policy reviews before losses occur. This way, clients understand their potential risks. Many policies today have little or no water coverage, while others carry 10% hurricane and wind deductibles—sometimes $80,000 to $100,000—which can be extremely difficult for a homeowner to absorb.
