Escambia County property records and your insurance claim in Pensacola Beach

November 5, 2026 · PAJOE Public Adjusters

A repair estimate starts with a picture of what stood there before the damage. For an Escambia County property, the parcel record can supply a starting point when you no longer have your plans. Search by address or parcel number, confirm the legal parcel and keep a dated copy of any building details or sketches available. Match the record to the affected building, especially when a parcel contains more than one structure.

Compare records room by room

Put the parcel sketch beside the inspection measurements and label differences. The recorded living area might leave an enclosed porch or a detached workshop out of that figure. Ask a contractor to identify what they measured and whether an estimate includes the addition. Dated listing photos, permits, appraisals and purchase inspection reports can help establish finishes and layout. Make separate notes for items you remember but cannot yet document.

Keep valuation and repair scope separate

If the record shows one bath but your receipts and photos show two, send the dated evidence with a note identifying the second bathroom and its damaged components. A parcel figure does not establish rebuild cost, current code requirements, when damage occurred, or whether the insurance policy covers it. Keep a copy of each record and record its source so the adjuster can trace the comparison.
