Rooftop solar panel damage and roof repairs in Midway in Pea Ridge

November 5, 2026 · PAJOE Public Adjusters

Roof repairs can become more complicated when a solar array covers the damaged area. Keep off the roof and leave electrical evaluation to a qualified professional. From a safe location, photograph the building and any debris or displacement you can see. Collect the installation contract, panel and inverter details, recent service records and documents showing whether the system is owned, leased or operated under another agreement.

Break the work into three scopes

Ask for separate written scopes for damage to the solar system, repair to the roof and removal or reinstallation of equipment needed to access the roof. If two panels are broken and the entire array must come off to reach the roof, those costs answer different questions. Ask the installer to document the affected components and record any system readings they used to diagnose the issue.

Coordinate access and approvals

Ask the system owner, installer and insurer who needs to review or approve each part before it begins. A lease or warranty may have its own procedure for moving equipment. Give the insurer both the roof and electrical findings and ask which policy provisions it applies. Keep final photos and invoices with the original inspection records for a clear record of what was changed.
