Reporting an Okaloosa County property claim to Citizens in Gonzalez
November 5, 2026 · PAJOE Public Adjusters
If the declarations page names Citizens Property Insurance Corporation as the carrier for your Okaloosa County property, use its published reporting options. Citizens directs policyholders to its online service, claims line or agent. A damaged roof can be reported while the full scope is still being investigated. Provide what you observed and identify what you are still checking.
Prepare for the report and inspection
Have the policy number, address and a reliable contact number handy. Describe when you found the damage, what has been done to protect the property and whether anyone can meet the adjuster. For example, record that a branch was removed from the roof and a tarp installed, and send any safe photographs taken before the tarp went on. Keep the contractor’s invoice and the branch removal cost in separate entries.
Track the estimate by issue
Save the claim confirmation and ask how to send additional material. If later inspection reveals water in an adjoining room, tell the adjuster which room, when it was first observed and how it differs from the damage already reported. Read any written decision beside the estimate and ask which policy provisions apply to disputed items. If you have a separate flood or other policy, contact the relevant carrier about that coverage as well.
