June 2, 2026 produced a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Palm Beach County and, separately, tree damage reports in West Palm Beach's Century Village and in Doral. These are different kinds of records from different places and times, and it's easy to blur them together.
Communities near the reports
| City / area | County | Nearby ZIP codes |
|---|---|---|
| West Palm Beach / Century Village area | Palm Beach County | 33417 |
| Doral | Miami-Dade County | 33166, 33172, 33178 |
ZIP codes identify nearby communities served; they do not show a confirmed storm footprint or establish damage at a specific property.
What the National Weather Service recorded
Jun 2, 3:35–4:00 PM EDT
East central Palm Beach County
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for radar-indicated 60 mph gusts and quarter-size hail
Reported by: NWS Miami warning (radar-indicated, not measured)
Jun 2, about 3:45 PM EDT
Century Village, West Palm Beach
Large pine tree down
Reported by: Broadcast media; time estimated from radar
Jun 2, about 6:11 PM EDT
Northbound NW 102nd Ave, Doral
Large tree across the road
Reported by: Off-duty NWS employee; time estimated from radar
The warning didn't cover Doral, and its 60 mph figure is what radar suggested was possible, not a gust measured at every property. The Century Village and Doral reports came more than two hours and many miles apart; they aren't evidence of one continuous storm or a single damage path.
Warnings and observations are different
A warning is issued ahead of or during a storm, based on radar and other data, so people can take cover. It describes a risk across an area. An observation, like a tree reported down, describes something that actually happened at one spot.
Both are useful context for a property review. Neither, on its own, tells you whether a particular home or business was damaged.
If you were on the property that afternoon, your own notes help too: what time the wind picked up, whether you heard impacts, and what you saw outside afterward. Write them down while you still remember, and keep them with your photos.
Records that help
- Timed photos of any fallen limbs or debris on your property, taken before cleanup.
- Photos of the roof edge, soffits, gutters, screens, fences and windows from the ground.
- Notes on any interior stains, drips or damp spots that appeared after June 2, and when you first saw them.
- Past inspection reports, repair invoices and photos that show the property's earlier condition.
- Your policy, claim number and any insurer letters.
How we review it
We inspect the roof, the exterior and the interior together, compare what we find with your records and policy, and explain what's storm-related, what isn't, and what remains uncertain.
Common questions
My area was under the warning. Does that prove damage?
No. A warning shows a storm threat was forecast for the area. Damage at your property has to be documented on its own.
Were the Doral and West Palm Beach reports from the same storm?
The reports don't say so, and they were hours and many miles apart. We treat them as separate events on the same day.
Is 60 mph a measured wind speed here?
No. In this warning it was radar-indicated, meaning estimated.

Free property inspection and claim review
We work for you—not the insurance company.
We inspect the whole property, roof to exterior to interior. The inspection and claim review are free. If you choose to have us represent your claim, our fee is set out in a separate written agreement, and there is no fee unless there is a recovery. Coverage depends on the cause of loss, policy terms, exclusions, deductibles, limits and documented damage.
